These turbines are widely used in hydropower stations, have heads from 2 to 30 meters,
and are equipped with a vertical axle.
They are available in three different types - open trough, pressure trough, and closed
concrete worm-shell trough.

The turbine is made up of several propellers or manually adjusted blades, with the
water pipe at the end being vertical cone-shaped or elbow-shaped.
Turbines with a diameter of 1,000mm are vertical cone shaped, and are suitable for
small hydropower stations with low head and load.
